State of Origin comes to Town

Melbourne was abuzz with NRL fever in June.  The official number of attendees at the State of Origin in Melbourne was 87,122.  NSW prevailed over QLD scoring 22-12 to give them a 1-0 lead in the series.  As a special pre-game entertainment treat, the Australian band Peking Duk warmed up the fans.

The NSW “baby blues” fielded 11 new debutants giving rise to the most inexperienced side in 37 years.  Their backline has been hailed as the driving force behind the win with fullback James Tedesco scoring the opening try.

The QLD maroons have claimed 11 of the last 12 series victory’s.  Although it does seem that the tide may be turning with the retirement of keys players Cooper Cronk, Cameron Smith and Johnathon Thurston.  Arguably three of the best Maroons to ever wear the jersey.  Fullback Billy Slater and winger Dane Gagai were also unfortunate withdrawals due to injury.

Temporary Equipment for the Event

An event of this size needs to be organised very carefully with a priority given the integrity of the turf and the safety and access of patrons and equipment.  The MCG relied on No Fuss Event Hire to cover a range of temporary equipment needs and services.

The event was multifaceted.  There were pre-game entertainment, on-field seating requirements, also the needs of pedestrian and heavy machinery safety and access.  The MCG also had tight logistic time frames that had to be adhered to by the professional No Fuss staff.

200 sqm of rollout flooring was used to create a walkway for the pregame entertainment. The event required a product that had quick, easy installation and removal.
